Teachers Support Workshop

This workshop is designed for high school textiles teachers, tafe teachers and tertiary private college educators wanting to expand into specialised sewing areas to support their students. The aim is to provide a supportive external and specialised educational experience that assists teaching faculty in the realm of lingerie construction, bra making, corsetry and/or swimwear.

As we know many teachers have different education levels in the field of sewing, we cover all information related to the products being assembled during the workshop. This means, we will teach in a manor that we feel is the easiest for you to teach your students. Experience in the area of stretch fabrics is helpful but not a requirement. If experience in lingerie has not been achieved prior to the workshop, we recommend starting with briefs, moving to wirefree options (Joy bralette, Gail wirefree bra), then moving onto a wired bra or swim or corsetry option. Limited knowledge in the lingerie field of sewing indicates it would be a good idea to book a 6 day workshop option. If prior experience has been attained, then a 3 day course may suffice.

These Workshops are all inclusive (patterns, kits and tuition) and each pattern has a number of sizes included. Pattern choices are varied, and although we have tailored these courses with a focus on what you may want to re-teach to your students, the styles are flexible.

How this product works

What you are 'buying' here is an enquiry only, so no fees are charged at this stage, and no commitment is made until the workshop is approved by yourself, your school and Booby Traps. At the next stage, yourself or the school or educational institution is invoiced. This product allows you to confirm we are available on your preferred dates and that we have enough numbers to run the course for you.

Following your pre-booking enquiry, we will to finalise your workshop choices including date and pattern selections.

As soon as your chosen dates are approved, along with any pattern changes you may want to make, you will be invoiced for the chosen workshop. Invoicing information and each teacher's details are to be fileld in and emailed to info@boobytraps.com.au. Payment in full must be made when the invoice is emailed. As we know some institutions have approval processes, a two-week grace time is offered. If you require more than this please communicate ahead of booking. Payment in full must be made 2 weeks prior to the workshop.

About the Pattern Selections

These workshops include the sewing patterns and kits required to make the chosen item for each day. These patterns cannot be used in your own classes, but approval can be given to allow you to purchase kits and patterns for each of your students to make in a class after this course is completed. This is an easy and professional way to educate students, as you can teach them how to read a paper pattern, assemble simple and straight-forward lingerie, corset and swim patterns, and they each have a prepared kit and pattern to take home after your class block is completed. Kits can be made in discrete fabrics appropriate for the students age. The most common kits and patterns that are used in tertiary education are the Joy Bralette, Alanah Corset and Miki Bikini.

There are three workshop options to choose from. All workshop fees are for mid-week days only. If a Saturday is required a fee of $80/student must apply.

Chosen styles are to allow for an easy education in the covered specialised fields not often taught in other institutions. There are a few course options and prices here are discounted for school educators:

1. Three day Intermediate course ($440/person) covers:

Day 1 - 4-in-1 or 3-in-1 knickers pattern (2 pairs made during the day)

Day 2 - Dream slip/camisole or Miki Bikini

Day 3 - Joy Bralette or Grace Bralette

2. Three day bra making course ($460/person) covers:

Day 1 - Joy Bralette or Grace Bralette

Day 2 - Gail Wirefree Bra or Kerri Wirefree Bra

Day 3 - Dart Bra or BOO3 Bra Pattern.

3. Six day complete lingerie course ($750/person) runs three days per week over a two week period) covers:

Day 1 - 4-in-1 knickers or 3-in-1 knickers

Day 2 - Joy Bralette or Grace Bralette

Day 3 - Gail Wirefree bra or Kerri Wirefree Bra

Day 4 - Miki Bikini or Charli Swimsuit/Bikini

Day 5 - Alanah Corset or Elise Bustier

Day 6 - Dart Bra or BOO3 Bra

Information about the workshops

These workshops are limited to a maximum of 5 students 4 are required to secure a date. These workshops must be mid-week not over weekends. The three-day courses need to be three consecutive days and the six-day course must be three days one week and three the next. All class dates are to be mid-week not weekends. For a Saturday to be included a fee of $80/student applies.

Sewing Classes are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend a class, we would appreciate notice in advance to reschedule the workshop. There is a confirmation booking form that will need to be completed by each teacher attending the class after the dates have been confirmed.

Please note that there is a flight of stairs to get to the classroom.

Tea and coffee is provided.

What to bring to the sewing workshops

Your own sewing machine and overlocker if you have one. Rental machines are available for those who require them and must be booked prior to class commencement.

Your sewing supplies - pins, scissors (paper and fabric), stretch machine needles, hand sewing needles, unpicker, bobbins, polyester thread and slide on sew table if you have one. Booby Traps sells unpickers, silk pins, needles both machine and hand and a large range of quality thread that you can purchase on the day.

A notebook to make your own notes on the day or you can make notes directly into your pattern booklet.

There is a cafe across the road mid-week for lunch purchases if required.

Where is the class?

The classes are held at the

We are at the end of the cul-de-sac in Jubilee Avenue (western end). Go past Auto Barn and keep following Jubilee Avenue around the bend - do not turn into the first Northshore Business Park sign as we are on the lower level. Turn left into the lower level of Northshore Business Park and we are on the left again (2^nd warehouse in from driveway).

If you are running late or lost, please give us a call on 02 8411 1984 so we know you are on your way.

Parking is available outside our warehouse and the class is up 1 flight of stairs. Please let us know if you need help getting your machine up the stairs.

There is a kitchen and toilets on site within the warehouse.

Shipping within Australia is via Australia Post Parcel Send. You will have a tracking number attached to your order when it has been shipped. Please check your spam folder in case the email ends up there.

Shipping can be anywhere from 1 - 10 working days, depending on your location and other circumstances. Bra, Brief and other lingerie kits do take us a little longer to prepare as we like to make them when they are ordered to ensure all elastics etc are not sitting on our shelves here. Please note: We try to minimise our environmental impact and will not put small wire or component orders in separate bags.

We will try to use recycled or environmentally safe packaging where possible. We may also use recycled satchels if available.

Small orders - We know sometimes you only want a couple of bra rings and slides or a couple of pairs of wires and freight seems high for such small items. We have the flat rate there so we can track all orders and this rate is not negotiable, even for small items. This is because we use the same courier system and do not get cheaper rates for small items.

Large Orders - If purchasing in bulk amounts, free freight is no longer applicable. Please select it during checkout, and when your order is packed, we will weigh it and send a separate shipping invoice. Please understand, we cannot offer the discounted price along with free freight as the parcels often are quite heavy when you buy in bulk.

Standard shipping within Australia is a flat rate of $12.50 with a packing and handling fee of $2.50 per order. Parcels are handled via Australia Post Parcel Send.

The $15 shipping fee is non-negotiable and non-refundable.

Orders over $150 receive free freight option (this is not applicable for bulk buy purchases)

Express shipping is available at a flat rate cost of $25 within Australia. To ensure the parcel is sent on the day of ordering, the order must be in by 11am for a midday collection.

Lost/Delayed Parcels - If a parcel is lost in transit, it is no fault of Booby Traps as it is in the care of Australia Post. We will endeavour to assist you in trying to sort out the problem as promptly as possible. In some cases the parcel may simply need to be located and then it may arrive late. If you have insured your order, we can resend your parcel when Australia Post deems it lost.

Please Note: Booby Traps is not responsible for courier/Australia Post delays/damages. We hope customers can understand that when the parcel leaves our premises safely and promptly and is in the care of another business we cannot be responsible for any issues that may arise. These instances are not frequent but can happen.

If a delivery is attempted and the goods are not collected at the designated post office, Booby Traps is not responsible for returning the items back to the customer. On occasion, we can perhaps send the returned items with your next order. Please note: there are no refunds on any items returned to our warehouse because the courier could not deliver to the address provided.

Insurance is available when processing your orders and it is strongly recommended you select it. If you do not, this means you are accepting the risk of damage or loss yourself. Sadly Australia Post will not take liability if no insurance is added. We will do our best to assist you should you have problems, but cannot guarantee we can resend your order without insurance coverage.

Packing Times - We endeavour to ship items within one business day of receiving the order. On some occasions this is not possible, due to workshops, in-store customers and sewing classes, so parcels may be posted up to 3 business days after the order is processed.

Pick up in store is welcome, and the items must be pre-paid, so the order may be packed and ready for collection. Collection can be organised via Email. Please telephone or email to ensure the order is ready and organise a suitable time. Kindly ensure we have confirmed the pick up before coming into the warehouse.

Overseas shipping is most welcome. There is now no minimum order amount and all items are sent via Australia Post Parcel Send.

Please note: We have overseas freight prices in place for a 500 gram parcel only. In some cases, further freight fees may apply if a parcel is heavier than 500g. These additional freight fees are payable by the customer. We apologise for our website not being able to quote your order, but as we have so many tiny items, weight doesn't work correctly.

All items are shipped via Australia Post Track and Trace or express if selected. If you do not see your Country available when ordering please email us at info@boobytraps.com.au and inform us so we can try and sort it out for you.

Packing and Handling

Booby Traps is mindful of its environmental impact and we are constantly striving to reduce packaging waste. This means we try and use as little plastic as possible while packing our orders. We know on occasion, this means you may have to sort items, but we hope you can understand and share or mission to keep our planet healthy.

Packing and handling fees of $2.50 per order apply and is included in your freight through checkout. If selecting store pick up or free freight, this fee will be added independently.

Bra components such as rings, slides, suspender clips, bikini clips and components are packed in one envelope if ordering under 100 pieces. This is also to reduce packing waste. If you do not wish to have this, you must purchase extra envelopes during ordering.

Returns & Replacements

Returns are accepted in the form of exchange for incorrectly purchased items or in the case of faulty items, a refund is issued. Refunds or returns are only applicable provided the item is returned in the condition it was purchased in within one month of the date of purchase. Refunds are not issued for incorrectly chosen items, but in the case of the customer not finding a desirable item, a gift voucher can be issued.
Shipping costs are non-refundable. The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs of incorrectly purchased items.

Please note: All parcels are checked over twice as quality assurance. If items arrive damaged, we guarantee they did not leave that way. Please be careful when opening the satchels as cutting them may also cut your products. These products are not replaceable by Booby Traps.

Payment, Pricing & Promotions

Payment methods include Paypal, Mastercard, Visacard, Bankcard, Direct Deposit and cash (in store only).

Diners or Amex are not available.

Direct Deposit orders will only be sent when funds are cleared. Booby Traps does not run accounts.

Varied promotions are run on a regular basis. Booby Traps also runs Open Days, in order to be informed of those days, please register for our newsletter. We do not send out frequent newsletters, but if you do not wish to get them it is very easy to unsubscribe.
