Our lingerie sewing courses are back online!

We have an extensive weeklong sewing workshop that we have run for many years now, and the dates are available again after the covid restrictions. 

The sewing workshop includes bra making, corset making, swimwear sewing, stretch lingerie sewing and there are many pattern choices available so you can customise your sewing educational experience to suit yourself. 

We have had many interstate and international students come along to these workshops, and we are still loading all reviews from the old website, so they will be back in again soon, but all have left extremely happy and motivated. 

We teach many stretch sewing techniques as well as material and elastic insertion education. We educate you on fit and how to make changes to suit your body type or needs. You learn the construction of the patterns of your choice, and will complete one piece a day (except knickers day you will get through two unless choosing a complicated style).

Depending on your pattern choices, you can learn folding elastic, facing elastic (scallop, picot, piping etc), swim elastic, bra construction (both beginner and advanced), swimwear construction and how to work with Lycra, sleepwear including slips, PJ's, bralette and wirefree bras, corsetry construction including busk insertion,  bustiers and knickers making including lace placement and breaking up patterns to make different styles using varied fabrics. We run through all the fabric and materials requirements for each piece, so you know what to buy and how far you can push certain patterns to use materials you have in your stash.

So at the end of each day, you go home with a fabulous 'sewn by you' garment and the pattern from that day. Each pattern has multiple sizes, so you can make items for your family after the workshop if you want to. This workshop covers tuition for 5 days, 5 patterns and 5 kits (of your choice)

It is recommended you have stretch sewing experience to attend this workshop. If you are a beginner, we can tailor the course to ensure you make items that are at this level. Beginners are always welcome at Booby Traps!
