Workshop Information

 

All classes and Workshops are held at Booby Traps Headquarters:

North Shore Business Park, Unit 25, 1-3 Jubilee Avenue, Warriewood

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to workshops to set up. (This does not apply to weekly general sewing classes)

Most classes are limited to a maximum of 6 students.

Atleast 50% of class fees must be paid for atleast one week in advance.


Fees are for tuition only and do not include materials required. Booby Traps stock a range of fabrics and haberdashery available for purchase.



Students are required to bring their own sewing machines. If this is not possible, rental machines are available upon application.


We retain the right to cancel a class if the required number of students is not met.

In this instance as much notice as possible will be given and fees may be transferred to another class of your choice.

We would appreciate notice in advance if you are unable to attend a class.

Tea and coffee are provided.


For full day workshops students are to provide their own lunch.

As we are a factory outlet and not a shop, it is your opportunity to buy sewing goods at factory prices. Kits, fabrics, elastics and haberdashery are all available to purchase on the day of your workshop.

Sewing Workshops and Classes

Bra making

Would you like to make your own beautiful bras?

In this workshop you will learn how to sew a fully structured bra, measure, trace a pattern, and get help with bra fitting.

Bra Kits, patterns and underwires are also required to complete this workshop.

Kits are available from $17. Patterns are $11.50. Underwires ae $1.80.

Modern Day Corsetry

Learn how to sew a stylish corset.

Browse our lovely range of corsetry patterns that are available for purchase. Students may select different styles for this workshop. Although we do not select corsetry styles that are too involved, as we aim for students to finish their corsetry projects at the end of the workshop.

Overlocking Workshops

Enroll now and you can learn rolled hemming, lettuce hemming, flatlocking, elasticating, lace insertion, pintucking and differential feed work

(Providing your machine is capable of these techniques). You will create fabric squares whilst you learn and you will be taught how to sew them into a beautiful cover for your sewing machine! The sewing together of the cover may need to be done at home at the completion of this project, but you will certainly leave knowing a lot more about your overlockers!

Please bring your manual to this class.

Swimwear

In this workshop you will learn the techniques to sew your own swimwear. You will also learn about stretch fabrics and swimwear elastic.

You may select your own pattern for this workshop - we stock a large range of swimwear patterns that are available for purchase.

These workshops will always vary, as we like to offer a large variety of courses for seing students to select from.

We run workshops in Embroidery Software education, couching, raw edge applique, Machine Embroidery, Crazy Patch, Embelished book covering

General Sewing Classes

Are you a beginner? Or maybe you have started a sewing project that is too difficult for you to finish?

Sometimes people just enjoy the social aspect of getting together each week and creating their own professional looking garments.

High School textile students have benefited greatly from these classes.

If you are any of the above these are the classes for you! Join for a few lessons or on a regular weekly basis.

These classes are not only informative and educational but students always have heaps of fun!

Childrens Sewing Classes

Want something unique and fun for the children to learn in the school holidays?

Children will learn the basics of machine sewing and will create and endeavour to complete a project a lesson.

Each class comes with a prepared and pre-packaged project, so there is no need to go shopping at all. Simple sewing supplies are required to join the class (scissors, ballpoint machine needles, pins, thread) Machine needles and thread can be purchased at our warehouse if need be. Machines are available to rent at a cost of $10.

Parents please note: we are a lingerie supply warehouse and do have items displayed on mannequins. It is advisable to view the premises prior to committing to sewing class to be certain you feel the environment is acceptable for your child.

The class is suitable for children from 8 years of age.
